Driving License Address Change-Maharashtra

Driving License address change- Pune
Recently I have changed the address in my driving license. My license was issued from Madhya Pradesh RTO &  I have transferred it to Pune, Maharashtra.

Time Spent for whole process (at RTO):
  • Process time 15 min
  • Waiting time 1.30 Hrs
Supporting documents required:

1) 2 Address proof  document
2) 2 Passport size photo
3) Medical certificate issued by govt. doctor (not sure if it is required for address change)
4) No objection certificate from the place where license was issued

One small carry bag to keep DL. Staple it with your forms.

Process:
1) Get the NOC from native RTO.
2) Fill up the forms (mentioned below)
3) Get the medical certificate done (not sure if this required but i did it)
4) Submit all the document to RTO.

1) NOC from native RTO:

Just apply for NOC from the RTO where the license was originally issued.

2) Fill up the Forms:
Forms required: Form can be download from http://mahatranscom.in/rtoforms.aspx

1) Form 1-Application-cum-decalration as to physical fitness
2) Form 1A- Medical Certificate
3) Form 9-Form of application for the renewel of driving License .

3) Medical certificate: Time spent 20 mins

Form required: Fill-up form 1 & 1A & goto any govt hospital to get the medical certificate

As far as I know only govt. authorized doctor can issue the certificate. I get it mine from Sasoon hospital.
One need to pay 10 rs at counter on ground floor & head to room no. 69 which is at 1st floor. The medical assistant their will take general eye test & will sign on the filled form 1A. That done of medical certificate. The assistant their is very active & will do all the process very quick. I was out of hospital in 20 mins.

4) Document submission at RTOTime spent 2 hrs approx...Process time: 15 mins...Waiting time: 1.5 hrs :(

I reached RTO (sangamwadi) at 10 am. Spent 15 mins to locate exact license department.
The license department has been located in Block-C. There are two entries to Block-C; one in-from front of Block A & another from Block B. If you enters from block B, take left then their is a corridor behind the staircase. Just move on the corridor you will reach Block C...your battle ground!!! :)

Once you enter 3 seats to left you will find a lady, that's the verifying officer. She was working very sincerely & was very quick in verifying the papers. She write the fees one need to pay on your paper. However in my case as my license was from out of Maharashtra, I need to get the sign from ARTO first.

The ARTO was not present in office, he came after 1.5 hrs. The officer was very gentle. He verify the document specially the NOC & will sign on papers. Then you again have to come to verifying officer, this time I found Mr mane sitting there & was verifying all the document. He took my documents verifies it & wrote the fees.

Payment (Time spent 5-10 mins)

After getting papers verified, head towards Block A. You will find very long ques awaiting for you....dot't worry the que is for learning license.....Go inside & on right side you will find 4 window to collect the fees. There was no body in que hence within 5 mins I got computer generated payment receipt (I paid 310 Rs)..Then on same block the finger enrollment & photo will be captured. The document will be taken by the same officer. Thats done....The license will be mailed to address mentioned in form.

Tip: I suggest you to go around 11:30 am to RTO so that your waiting time will be less.

Please feel free to comment if you have any doubt.

I recommend you to be a sincere citizen & don't hesitate to get your work done by your own instead of depending on others...believe me its not that painful what we think,,,,

Note: The above blog is my personal experience & its for educational purpose only. This doesn't guarantee
about the exact process you need to face at RTO. The driving license is  issueed by discretion of RTO department.
